Concentration camps were created to punish the Jewish People. They were taken from their homes and put on a train to an available camp. Hitler (the leader of Germany) blamed the Jewish society for causing their problems. He convinced many people to join him and go against the Jews. This led to their imprisonment and in most cases death. Every person who was of Jewish faith had to wear a gold star on their clothing at all times so people could distinguish who they were. They lived in fear of their lives everyday. Some people tried to hide their faith in order to live but in most cases were discovered. In the camps they were put into gas chambers, stripped of clothing, forced to work, and deprived of proper nutrition. The Jewish people were thoroughly tortured for being simply who they were. They were under constant watch and if they broke any rule they would be killed on the spot. Many people died from hyperthermia, starvation, or disease. The conditions were extreme and unfair .
